TIPPING POINT?

I knew our country was gradually succumbing to the liberal mantra and political correctness for quite some time now. I had hopes that with the election of Trump, liberals would take a step back and think about what they are doing, and realize that a great many Americans do not share their progressive views. Yes, it was a fairly close election, yet conservatives managed to pull it off, much to the surprise of even themselves. You would think that this might bring about a moment of reflection among the masses of liberal progressives who for so long now have seemed to feel that anyone who didn't agree with them had to be a racist, or ignorant, or worse. It never dawned on any of them for even a second that maybe they could be wrong about anything.

However, Trump's victory seems to have them doubling down on their progressiveness. I never even dreamed this could happen, and if you had told me it could, I would have thought you were nuts. I never thought liberals were stupid; I just thought they had a lot of bad ideas and were quite full of themselves. But, then it happened!

An administrator for a public school informed students that they would no longer be allowed to display the U.S. flag on school property. If it wasn't bad enough already that you couldn't celebrate Christmas, or use certain words; at least, there was some logic behind the idea that we shouldn't offend others with our religious preferences or ethnic slurs.

But to ban the flag? Who are we offending with the flag? Aren't we all Americans? Well, maybe not those who came here illegally, but do we owe them any kind of respect? I'd just about guarantee you that if an illegal alien, or anyone else, were to burn a U.S. flag on school property, nothing would be done about it. It would be considered an act of expression protected by the first amendment. Yet, an actual citizen is prohibited from being proud to be an American and expressing that pride by displaying and honoring the flag?

Had the decision to ban displays of the flag not been rescinded shorty after it hit the news, I hate to think what might have happened. If you think the people who went to the polls to stand up against big government and political correctness would have simply accepted this slap in the face, I think you are dreaming. I was about to put my flag on the back of my Harley and ride out there to parade it all over the campus, and I think there would soon have been thousands of others joining me. I think that administrator and anyone else supporting or connected to that decision would have, at best, been looking for a new job (and having trouble finding one). I can't even imagine what else might have followed.

I'd say I'm surprised, but I'm not, that this didn't make the national news, or crippled the Internet with tweets and Facebook posts. I'm not surprised the media didn't pick up on it, because they probably supported the ban. The fact that it was rescinded so quickly probably kept it from going viral on the Internet, but I think it should yet.

ELECTION DAY 2016

Needless to say, those of us who want to protect our gun rights should vote for Donald Trump. Still, I can't bring myself to do it. As much as I dislike Hillary and her liberal agenda, I find it impossible to vote for a buffoon who can only articulate at a 3rd grade level.

Anyone with an ounce of integrity could only voter for Trump as a last resort to try and keep Hillary from office. I can understand that, but I can't bring myself to do it. It's not that I don't admire Trump for speaking his mind and refusing to be politically correct. The problem is that he appears to have an IQ of around 60.

It could be that he is much smarter than he appears, and that he knows this elementary level vocabulary he uses will win him votes, but if you have to appeal to idiots in order to get elected, I'm not sure you're the person I want representing me.

I don't believe the media that Republicans are less educated than Democrats. After all, who has the money? If we're so stupid, why are we doing so much better than the Democrats? I don't doubt there are more Democratic graduates with liberal arts degrees, and they may outnumber Republicans with any kind of degree, but is that truly an education? No, that is brainwashing by the liberal arts colleges and universities that provides a meaningless and worthless degree.

WOW

That's about all I can with all that's been happening locally and around the world since I last posted.

Well, maybe I can say more. Like, suck it national media! While I'm no big Trump fan, I'll sure as Hell enjoy seeing the national media eating crow for the next four or eight years if Donald gets elected. It's looking more and more like he will. His good points: non-politically correct and unafraid to speak his mind and an outsider when it comes to Washington. His bad points, he speaks his mind without regard for the political consequences and he has few true friends in Washington. The good points may just well be what gets him elected; the bad points may spell doom for anything he tries to do here or abroad and could turn some of our allies against us.

I'm hoping he's really smarter than he appears and that once elected he will tone it down enough to gain some cooperation from those who can help him achieve some of his stated goals.

Aside from being a gun grabbing liberal and most likely causing an increase in taxes for the working class and well to do, I don't think she'll ruin the country any more than it already is. Then again, she might keep moving in the direction of protecting everyone but straight white people to the point where they can do no wrong and us poor bastards will take the blame.

ANYONE, ANYONE?

So, who else is pissed off that seemingly anyone and everyone can, at their convenience, come into your private property and paint your grass, sidewalks, or driveways, and put little flags all over the yard for you to mow around?

I understand that there are easements, and that people don't own the property that is in the right of way along a street and such. Still, it really peeves me that every time someone wants to do any sort of digging, for any purpose, in come the assholes with the spray paint and the flags to make your neighborhood look like a ghetto covered with graffiti. If that's not bad enough, no one ever comes back to remove the flags, and the paint must be better than any paint you can buy in a store because it seems to last forever.

Why the fuck do they need both the paint and the flags anyway? If you can't see the fucking flags, you're sure as hell not going to see the painted grass that stays that way for at least the rest of the growing season.

They should be required to come back and remove all paint and flags once whatever job called for them in the first place is completed. I won't mow around the fucking flags if there is also paint on the grass. Fuck 'em. If I can see the paint, so can they.

Shit! Even with all these flags and paint, not a day goes by that some contractor or utility company doesn't cut into a gas line, or sever an fiber-optic cable, or spring a gigantic leak in a water main. What the fuck!?!?!?!?

I'd like to find the owner or head of the gas company, the electric company, the telephone company, the cable company, and the water and sewer works, and go paint the fuck all over their property (which is probably a lot nicer-looking than mine) and stab about 500 fucking flags all over their yards and see how they like it.

Stupid, Lazy, Arrogant People are Taking Over the World

What's so hard about staying on the right side of the road, or sidewalk, or hallway (perhaps I should say the "correct side" but, fuck, this is the United States, where we keep to the right)?

You really think it's okay to hold up a line of traffic to let your kid out in the middle of the street to go to school when you could just as easily pull over to the the curb?

I suppose that red light you just ran was for the guy behind you, because obviously you're too important to stop for anyone else.

You think everyone in the world enjoys your rap, or hip-hop, or country, or booming-so-loud-it-sounds-like-your-car-is-falling-apart noise? We don't. Shut your fucking windows and turn it down, asshole!

Everyone who has a job as a telemarketer; go fuck yourself and die! I don't have any credit card debt, I already sided my house and put in new windows, and I don't give a fuck about your charity!

See that thing below your dashboard about in the center of your car. It's called an ashtray. Put your butts in it if you don't want them shoved up yours!

Hey, dumbass! Yeah, that's right. I know you're a dumbass; you're suing the city because you were too stupid to watch where you were going and walked headfirst into a telephone pole while reading a text from the guy walking next to you who fell down an open manhole.

So, you're too fucking lazy to pick up your grass clippings and decide it's easier to blow it all out into the street. Remember that when I come up to your door after turning your corner and going down on my bike because your leaves and grass made a slippery mess out on the street. Fuck that, you won't remember anything when I blow your fucking head off with my S&W 500.

I think we should have an Idiot Cocksucker Awareness Week. Instead of blocking the street with a march or a rally, we all just go out and beat senseless anyone who does any of the things previously mentioned. We could get like-minded individuals to pledge some dollar amount for each ignorant, arrogant, cocksucker we beat senseless, and all the money would go to...me! Fuck, it was my idea!

You think prison overcrowding is bad? Well, let's let them all out, and you can tell me how bad it was after some of them rape your daughter, murder your wife (or husband), and steal your life savings.

You think whites are racist? Why don't we have White Lawyers of America? Why don't we make a big deal out of the first white person to do anything? Why, if we're all equal, does it matter what race anyone is who does anything? Why do we cry about so many blacks being incarcerated? I've never seen anything in the law that makes it illegal for a black person to do something that a white person can do legally. The law is the law for all of us. After all, we didn't make it illegal to eat chicken or watermellons (that would be racist).

I don't have anything against black people, in general. It just seems that being black is an excuse for being a criminal these days. I hate anyone, of any color, who refuses to obey the law, or to have some respect for other people.

Please, add anything you like to this discussion. Of course, I may choose not to allow your comments, but go for it. I'm open-minded!

2016: The End of the United States as We Once Knew It

I don't even know where to begin listing all the things wrong with this country. That being said, it may still be the greatest country in the world; just not nearly as great as it once was or could be.

It seems the only thing that matters anymore is how many likes you got on Facebook, or retweets on Twitter. You used to hear phrases like, "Politics as usual." Well, there is nothing usual about politics these days. It has become like wrestling, nothing more than entertainment, and very poor entertainment at that.

Journalism and the media as a whole is nothing more than advertising disguised as news. The writers can't even follow simple rules of grammar let alone understand or convey the who, what, why, when, where, and how of an event they cover.

Most anyone under 40 has been brainwashed into thinking they are owed a living; an education, a job, a home, healthcare, and all the other things that comprise life are expected rather than earned.

Everyone expects everyone else to like them, or at least pretend to, while they behave like spoiled kids. No one truly cares about anyone else. They care about the attention they can get by pretending to care about others.

Donald Trump appears on his way to winning the Republican nomination despite his third-grade level vocabulary. To be honest, though, there are probably a lot of third graders that have more sense than the average citizen these days. Donald is not alone, either. Not one of the candidates in either party comes across as an intelligent person.

I'm not a religious person, but if there is a God, I hope he (she, it?) strikes down all the current candidates and allows some truly intelligent and dedicated person to be elected. Otherwise, I fear we're beyond hope.

SCALIA

This may now turn out to be the most important election for quite some time as it could determine the political leanings of the Supreme Court, which increasingly seems to determine the law of the land. Important and controversial issues are increasingly decided not by the people, not by their representatives, not by their elected leaders, but by those occupying the seats of the Supreme Court (and appointed by the President with the approval of Congress).

Some of the most controversial issues facing the U.S. have to do with human rights. Abortion and the right to bear arms are two that are frequently in the spotlight of the media. There are many others whose fate is ultimately in the hands of the Supreme Court, including: immigration, healthcare, voter I.D., education, and sexual orientation.

It is time for us all to stop the effort to put our lives under the control of government. Certainly, there are limits to our liberty, but it is not incumbent on government to tell us what we can believe, or say, or do, as long as it doesn't deny the rights specified in the Constitution that belong to all people.

People do not have a right to prosperity, or health, or a job, or a house, or car, or education, or respect. They have a right to pursue these things, they are not bestowed upon them by right of birth.

It is not government's job to make everyone equal in terms or wealth, or status, or self-esteem. Government's job is to protect the inalienable rights of people, and in our case, the rights established by the Constitution.

Vote for the person who embodies these values in the next election.
